The Western Cape provincial government has welcomed yet another extension of the 2022 census count.

The count period in the Western Cape had been extended to 14 May, however it has now been moved to 31 May.

Only 70% of households in the Western Cape have completed the census questionnaire.

Premier Alan Winde again warned that the allocation of resources available for service delivery would be affected if this trend continued.
