Reward for information about Manenberg cat killer increased after post mortem reports confirm 'worst fears'

11 cats have been brutally killed in Manenberg, Cape Town, over the last 10 days according to the Animal Welfare Society of SA (AWS).

Last week on Thursday, the AWS appealed for assistance in raising funds as a reward to capture the ‘serial cat killer’.

Unfortunately the killer struck again last night and killed 3 adult cats bringing the cat death toll total to 11.

“On Thursday last week (15 Jul) we alerted the public to cats and kittens being viciously killed in Manenberg. Last night the killer struck again slicing and disembowelling another 3 adult cats from head to tail before flinging their mutilated carcasses into the yards of homes in Dwyka and Venster Streets.”

“The images of the dead cats that accompanied this morning’s report are too ghastly for words. They paint a picture of a seriously deranged individual or group of individuals (there are suspicions that these horrific incidents may be gang related) with an evil blood-lust. Over the past 10 days these revolting beings have mercilessly tortured and butchered 11 cats making this one if the largest animal killing sprees the Cape Metro has ever witnessed,” AWS said in a statement on Facebook.
