CapeTalk radio broadcast disrupted after station's transmitter site in Klipheuwel was burgled overnight

CapeTalk was off-air on Sunday morning after the station’s transmitter site in Klipheuwel was burgled overnight.

According to EWN the criminals damaged some of the equipment before making off with miscellaneous electronics.

CapeTalk is now back on air, however at reduced power.

“According to technicians, a lot of copper was stolen, including the underground strips which form part of the antenna.”

“As a result, the transmitters are unable to run at full power yet.”- CapeTalk.
