Cape Town man, 21, kidnapped from family business

A 21-year-old man has been kidnapped from his family’s business while his horrified relatives were held at gunpoint.

Police have since launched a man hunt for the four suspects following the incident on Friday night in Newfields, Hanover Park.

It is alleged that four armed men stormed and raided the victim’s family home from where they run a takeaway business before making off with Huzaifa Sange.

Sange, is from India,  however he has been living in Cape Town for the past seven years with his brother Usaina and sister-in-law Munazia and helps run the business.

Munazia told the IOL that the men, posed as customers before storming into their house demanding money.

She said she was busy putting her 5-month-old baby to sleep when she heard a commotion in the lounge.

“I heard my husband scream and I ran from the bedroom to the lounge. My husband, Huzaifa, and the kidnappers (were there), two of them had guns.

“They told me not to scream and put the gun against my baby’s head. They said they would shoot her if I did, so I stayed quiet.”

The suspects are said to have taken everything (of value), cellphones, every cent, clothes, baby’s nappies, wet-wipes and baby bag.

They even took the (raw) tikka chicken and chips.

The family is yet to receive a ransom demand.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said Philippi SAPS registered a case of house robbery and kidnapping.
