Cape Town lawyer facing charges of rape, sexually grooming of 3 children released on R10 000 bail

A Cape Town attorney who is facing charges relating to the sexual abuse of minors has been released on R10 000 bail.

According to News24, the 36-year-old man was arrested last month after three children reported him to the police and one victim is 14 years.

The suspect is facing charges of unlawfully and intentionally engaging services of a child younger than 18 years for financial/other rewards, to perform sexual act with that child… whether it is committed or not.

NPA spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila said, the suspect was released on strict bail conditions.

The bail conditions include that the suspect must not enter the Muizenberg jurisdiction, must hand over his passport and notify the investigating officer if he intends to travel outside of Cape Town.

The matter was postponed to July 15 for further investigation.
