The 43rd Cape Town Cycle Tour takes place on Sunday.

The Cape Town Cycle tour takes place on Sunday 10 October.

The event was cancelled earlier this year due to Covid-19, however the event will now go ahead under strict Covid-19 protocols.

This year the event will accommodate 18 000 cyclists this Sunday. It will also be the first time that the event will be held without spectators, owing to national Covid-19 regulations.

According to the City of Cape Town, the cycle race kicks off at 06:00 on Sunday morning when the first batch of riders set off towards Simon’s Town.

As part of this year’s stricter health protocols, there will be staggered rolling starts over a couple of hours to ensure better physical distancing between cyclists.

The complete list of road closures for Sunday, 10 October’s race can be found here.

Motorists have been urged to consider alternative routes between these times.
