Cape Town boy, 10, shot dead in gang crossfire

This latest incident comes barely two days after a four-year-old girl was killed when she got caught in the crossfire of rival gangs in Ottery.

Police are are probing the death of a ten-year-old boy following a shooting incident on Friday in Manenberg, Cape Town.

The incident happened at around 10:30 in the morning on the corners of Priscilla Ngeni and Chemist Mlungu Streets in Tambo Village.

“It is believed that five unknown suspects fired randomly at each other and that the victim was caught in the crossfire of these rival gangs. He was admitted to hospital where he later succumbed to death.”

Police have appealed to anyone with information on the shooting to come forward.

“If you can shed any light on the matter, or know who the perpetrators are, kindly contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111, where your identity will be protected.”

Scarlett Cottle, was struck by a bullet that went through the family’s wendy house, on Wednesday night.

Cottle, who was hit in the head and neck, was apparently in bed looking at a book, when the shots rang outside her home.

She was admitted to hospital, where she later died.
