A 27-year-old man has been arrested for dealing and possession of drugs after a bakkie load of dagga was confiscated in Tambo Village in Manenberg on Monday evening.

Cape Town Metro Police officers made the drug bust after receiving information about drug dealing at a house in the Gugulethu area.

The City’s Metro Police found a number of dagga trees being dried with a heater after they were given permission to search the premises.

In another room, they found the suspect with a substantial amount of dagga and a scale.

Metro Police spokesperson Ruth Solomons said the man was busy weighing and packaging the dagga for distribution.

The suspect was detained at Manenberg Police Station.
