Armed robbers hit Cape Gate shopping mall

Police are investigating a case of business robbery following an armed robbery at Cape Gate Mall in Brackenfell on Wednesday evening, 21 April 2021.

The robbers reportedly targeted Foschini, American Swiss and Markhams.

RTC South Africa reported that the incident took place at approximately 18:40 on Wednesday evening.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said six suspects entered the store and threatened staff while they broke display cabinets.

They stole an an undisclosed amount of cellphones before fleeing the scene in Black Nissan Navara CCD reg. No.

Police say they are following up on all leads in order to bring the perpetrators to book.

No injuries have been reported from the incident.
