All restaurants, cafes, bars, coffee shops will be shut down during the 21 day Covid-19 lockdown in South Africa.
The 21 day Covid-19 lockdown begins at midnight Thursday, 26 March 2020 until midnight Thursday, 16 April 2020.
A statement released by the Tourism ministry said the service providers have not been included on the list of what has been deemed essential.
These services will not be permitted to operate and will thus need to be closed for the duration.
Moreover, all food delivery services will also be suspended for 21 days.
In his statement to the nation delivered on Monday, 23 March 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa said the lockdown was intended to save lives, even though it would come at a heavy cost to the economy.
