AfriForum suspends Western Cape Branch Member

Afriforum suspended one of its branch members from the Western Cape following the member’s arrest for assault. It is said the assault led to the victim being hospitalized.

In a statement issued by the CEO of Afriforum Kallie Kriel, the organization outlined its position in regards to violence. Kriel said “the organization condemned all forms of violence and the violation of a person’s dignity‚ irrespective of who the victim or perpetrator is”.

“Any person who makes themselves guilty of any form of violence or the violation of someone’s dignity‚ must carry the consequences.”

The suspended members’ name however has not been made public.
