A surfer has died in Kommetjie after collapsing unconscious on the rocks on the shoreline.
According to NSRI, the Kommetjie medical crew responded to Inner Komm, Kommetjie, on Tuesday, 21 July following reports from a member of the public that a male surfer had collapsed.
According to the eye-witness, the 52-year-old local man exited the water after surfing and he indicated to a bystander that he was feeling unwell before collapsing unconscious.
CMR (Cape Medical Response), False Bay Volunteer EMS, and the SA Police Services were also activated.
On arrival on the scene, the man was sadly found to be deceased.
In a separate incident, another man lost his life after he was reportedly run over by a boat trailer.
The NSRI responded to the incident at the Hout Bay harbour on Tuesday afternoon.
Life Healthcare response paramedics, Hout Bay Volunteer EMS, SA Police Services, and City of Cape Town (CoCT) Fire and Rescue Services were also responding to the scene.
However, on arrival on the scene, the local man had succumbed to his injuries.
