Men who hijacked and torched Scarborough surfer in car boot were out on bail for hijacking

The 38-year-old man from Scarborough  is believed to have been attacked by two men in the evening while returning to his car after surfing at Witsand. His attackers shot him and  put him in the boot of his car, then drove off with it.

A second suspect appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for the murder of surfer David Wolfrom.

Mark Anthony Williams, 33, was arrested in Philippi on Wednesday, two weeks after he and co-accused, Wilson Wilschut, 30, allegedly committed the robbery, hijacking and murder.

Both men were out on bail for a separate hijacking incident they allegedly committed in Simon’s Town.

Wilschut was arrested days after the murder which happened on the late afternoon of May 8 .

The matter was postponed to Tuesday May 21 for a bail application. Williams will also appear again on May 28 for a second appearance.
