Man who attended art and culture event in Western Cape tests positive for Covid-19

The event organisers have urged those who attended the festival to self isolate for two weeks in keeping with current Government issued guidelines.

A man who attended art and culture event, the Bazique Festival which took place from March 13-15 in Paarl, Western Cape has tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the event organisers the man who tested positive for Covid-19 was at the art and culture event on Sunday between 11:00 and 19:00.

A Facebook post from Bazique Festival revealed that organisers of the event had contacted the man and he was not showing any of the ‘usual symptoms’.

” There is no certainty that he was positive at the festival – he may have contracted the disease after the event – however, we have made a commitment to keeping our community informed and so are doing so,” read part of the post.

The event organisers have urged those who attended the festival to self isolate for two weeks in keeping with current Government issued guidelines.
