Watch: Suspect still at large following killing of patron at Gordon's Bay restaurant

A man was shot dead, by a gunman at a Gordon’s Bay restaurant yesterday (Thursday 10 September) and the suspect is still at large.

The man was shot execution-style while enjoying his meal at Talla’s Tavern and the incident was captured on CCTV footage.

The video which has been circulated widely on social media shows an unknown biker getting off his bike and heading straight to the eating area, while holding what appears to be a gun, a few seconds later the patron drops to the floor.

The gunmen had his helmet on throughout the incident.

Shortly after, the biker crosses back to the motorcycle and is seen driving away.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel André Traut,  said the 40-year-old man was shot and wounded at 2.45 pm on Thursday, September 10.

Colonel Traut said the man was rushed to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“The suspect fled the scene on a bike and is yet to be arrested,” Traut added.

A case of murder has been registered with the police.
