Man suffers multiple injuries after Llandudno rockfall

According to Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) spokesperson, Johan Marais, the organisation was called to assist at Llandudno Corner at approximately 10.30am.

A dramatic rescue took place on Thursday morning when a climber suffered multiple injuries after being hit by a falling rock.

According to Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) spokesperson, Johan Marais, the organisation was called to assist at Llandudno Corner at approximately 10.30am.

“Skymed, the rescue helicopter contracted to the Western Cape health department, has landed at Pinelands rescue base to collect a paramedic, after which it will depart to a temporary landing zone on the access road to Suikerbossie restaurant,” Marais said. “Our ground support team is en route to Suikerbossie.”

The climbers current condition is not yet known.
