A devastating fire broke out at an informal settlement in Samora Machel near Philippi on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Cape Town Fire and Rescue spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, eight fire fighting vehicles were dispatched to battle the fire.
Houses and informal dwellings were gutted by the fire.
