A 29-year-old prison warden has been arrested for alleged corruption and defeating the ends of justice in Worcester, the Boland.
Western Cape police say the warden from the local correctional services centre was arrested following an intelligence undercover operation.
A tp-off had been received about a possible corrupt official attached to the correctional services department in Worcester.
An operation was launched at a local fast food outlet where a South African Police Service (SAPS) agent handed over R3000 in cash and 295 grams of tik (crystal methamphetamine) to the suspect, after which the suspect was arrested.
He is due to appear in court on Monday.
