A 15 year- old learner is expected to appear in the Cape Town magistrate’s court this morning in connection with the armed robbery at Sea Point High school on Wednesday.
The suspects disrupted an exam session at the school, by attacking a teacher and pulling away with a bundle of cell phones.
The teacher was assaulted with a gun and sustained an injury to her face.
Police spokesperson André Traut says the youth, who is a scholar at the same school, was identified by surveillance footage when he and his accomplice entered the class room while learners were writing exams.
Traut says six cellular telephone covers, believed to have been stolen during the robbery were found on Sunday morning during a search of his house in Philippi East.
