Kommetjie road closures: Motorists advised to plan alternative routes

Motorists have been urged to plan alternative routes from the 21st to the 25th of January.

The City of Cape Town will be carrying out a scheduled upgrade on Kommetjie road which will result in various roads closures. Motorists have been urged to plan alternative routes from the 21st to the 25th of January.

From 23 – 25 January 2020 at 19:30 – 06:00 hours city workers will be carrying out the final application course to the Ou Kaapse Weg/Kommetjie Main Road intersection.

Due to the maintenance work traffic will not be able to cross from OKW to Glencairn (Blackhill) and
vice versa.

The City has designated flag persons who will direct traffic to dedicated U-turns at Old Kommetjie Road and Corsair Way during the closure periods.

On the 25th of  January 2020 from 05:30 – 09:00 hours there will be road closures on Red Hill Marathon and Classic Road Race, more details will be shared by the City.

On Wednesday 22 January the City will be carrying out phase 5 of the upgrade which will see short road closures at the Kommetjie Main Road/Capri Drive/Palm Avenue intersection.

The road closures are expected to last till midday.
