Six people were rushed to hospital this afternoon after they collapsed on Wetton Road in Wetton, Western Cape.
Five are said to be in critical condition.
According to Nari, the men had ingested an unknown substance, causing them to collapse. It’s suspected it could be case of food poisoning with News24 reporting that earlier, a vehicle was seen handing out food to people on Wetton Road..
ER24 Paramedics, Life Healthcare and the Western Cape Metro Services, arrived on the scene to find that six people had collapsed along Wetton Road.
Medics assessed the patients and found that five people were in a critical condition while the sixth patient was found in a serious condition.
The patients were treated for their injuries and provided with several advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
