The 2021 Cape Town Cycle Tour, presented by Pick n Pay, is scheduled to take place on October 10, 2021.
The event, was initially meant to take place in March 2021 but was sadly cancelled due to Covid-19.
“Preparations are well underway for the 43rd edition of the Cycle Tour and planning with all relevant stakeholders is ongoing. With the wellbeing and safety of participants and spectators being foremost, we continue to monitor the situation and will adapt the event to satisfy all required regulations that may be in place at the time,” the planners announced on Friday.
Details of the entry open date, entry limits, and entry process, will be announced on Monday 19 April 2021.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour is an annual cycle race hosted in Cape Town, usually 109 km long.
It is now one of the world’s leading cycle events, but when Bill Mylrea, John Stegmann and Louis de Waal first proposed the Argus Tour, it was meant to be a protest ride to ‘encourage’ the city council to think about bicycles as part of its urban planning, and look after cyclists on the (by 1978 standards) busy roads.
